Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) addressed the Republican National Convention Wednesday evening mere days after being passed over as Trump’s running mate. Burgum was one of the top candidates rumored to join Trump’s presidential ticket and could potentially join Trump’s Cabinet if he wins reelection.
The wealthy North Dakota executive mostly praised Trump’s stance on energy during his speech and took a swipe at President Joe Biden over concerns that he doesn’t have the mental acuity to serve another for more years.
After questioning the crowd “Who will make America energy dominant again?” to which the crowd answered “Donald Trump” Burgum then slammed Biden.
“Well that’s pretty good, but it’s after 4 pm in D.C., so how about one more time loud enough to wake up Joe Biden,” Burgum said, referencing jokes that Biden isn’t mentally coherent later in the day.
