The Secret Service stated on Sunday that no changes are being made to the security plan for the Republican National Convention despite the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump on Saturday.
Audrey Gibson-Cicchino, the Assistant Special Agent in charge for the Secret Service for the RNC said the agency is “confident” in the plans they have laid out for the convention and that they plan to move forward with them.
Gibson-Cicchino said that the convention already had the highest designation available for an event of its size and that planning for the event’s security has been under way for over a year.
