Journalist Maggie Haberman told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on The Source that she received a phone call from former President Donald Trump where he reprimanded her for the media saying a story he told is untrue.
At a Thursday news conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump was asked about a helicopter ride with Willie Brown that supposedly ended with an emergency landing. Brown has said on CNN and other outlets that the event didn’t happen, so the story was widely reported as made up.
Trump told Haberman over the phone that he has records of this happening, but then mocked her when she asked to see them.
“What I thought was most interesting about this conversation – although, certainly if he has these records, we would write about, it’d be interesting – was that he was focusing on this, because that is what we have seen him do historically when he is in times of stress,” Haberman told Collins.
