Multiple attendees at Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan, fainted from the heat Wednesday night.
The rally, held at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, drew 15,000 supporters, making it the largest event of Harris’s campaign. Temperatures had hovered around 80 degrees with 50% humidity throughout the rally, causing some attendees to require medical attention during the pre-program as well as Harris and Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) remarks.
“We need some help over there. I think we need a medic there, please. There should be medics in each corner. Are we good?” Harris stated when one person fainted shortly after her remarks began. “OK? All right, look, let’s all take care of each other and look out for each other, all right.”
