Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy told the Washington Examiner he would “strongly consider” replacing Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) in the Senate if Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH) asked him to fill the seat.
But he would first want to consult with the former president, he added, as his name is floated for possible positions within a future Trump administration.
“If asked to serve, I would strongly consider it, but I also want to have a lot of conversations with President Trump about the biggest way I can have an impact,” he said at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday, shortly after Trump announced Vance as his running mate.
Ramaswamy said he has not talked to DeWine about the seat, which would likely only open if a Trump-Vance ticket were elected in November.
